A report on the condition of this station has been submitted to NGS, along with the following recovery note:
Recovered in good condition. The building now houses the Southwest Harbor branch of the First Bank. The mark is currently accessible and the designation was verified. Autonomous (non-corrected) handheld GPS coordinates for the mark are 44 16 47.9(N) 068 19 34.1(W).

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1962 AT SOUTHWEST HARBOR. SET VERTICALLY IN THE NORTH CONCRETE FOUNDATION OF A BUSINESS BUILDING AT THE JUNCTION OF CLARK ROAD AND MAIN STREET (HIGHWAY 102). 45 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 102, 12 FEET WEST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING AND 6 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND.

...The disk is set vertically in the foundation wall. The small alleyway between the buildings is currently open and the mark is accessible. |
